Announces New Scholarship Drive in Honor of
Bob Bitz, ’52

The Cornell Alumni Association of Central New York is pleased to announce our 4th scholarship endowment initiative – honoring Bob Bitz, ’52.  Bob has been a longtime supporter of CAACNY and was a CAAAN volunteer for many years.  We are excited to name this scholarship in honor of Bob!  This scholarship will be awarded to a Central New York student to help them attend Cornell.

Bob Bitz is the founder and former owner of Plainville Turkey Farms, Inc. located in Plainville, NY.  He is a Cornell Trustee Emeritus and was active in the Board's Committee on Land Grant and Statutory College Affairs.  Bob has also served Cornell on the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Advisory Council, the Veterinary Medicine Advisory Council and the Class of '52 Reunion Committee.  Bob and his wife, Janice, have been active supporters of the Cornell Alumni Association of Central New York for many years.  In addition, he was the president of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Alumni Association and received the CALS Outstanding Alumni Award in 1988. In 2003 Bob received the Frank H. T. Rhodes Exemplary Alumni Service Award.  Bob & Janice have three children, Cynthia, Mark MS '85, and Bruce '87.
